OOTD - My Uncle and Auntie's Wedding
Yesterday I had a lovely time being a guest at my uncle and auntie's wedding. It was such a beautiful venue and the rain thankfully held off until late evening. My family and I have known this was coming for, I think, just under a year, so it gave me time to get excited about buying a fancy new outfit for this special day. I started looking for a new dress as soon as I heard the news! This was my look for the wedding:

Most importantly, of course, is the dress. I brought this in March from Lipsy in Debenhams. It is a black overlay body-con dress with pretty pink, yellow and white flowers on it. I thought this would look great for a summer wedding since the black is sophisticated whilst the bright flowers add a pop of fun colour. Its a scuba material which I was a bit worried about since I thought I might be too hot, but it was absolutely fine. Having this also means that it would be a suitable dress to wear all year round as long as is dressed up with a nice jacket and tights in the colder months. I really love the back of this dress too; the overlay is cut away at the back leaving the dress underneath exposed.
I also wanted to try out a fascinator. I'd never worn one before but they always looked so chic and perfect for weddings. The one I brought was also from Debenhams and by a designer called Ben de Lisi. It was your typical fascinator with feathers and a sinamay bow, but I particularly liked this one because it had a feather flower to match the flowers on my dress. It was a nude/pink colour so it matched the pink on my dress and was pretty much identical to the colour of my shoes. Usually when I wear headbands it hurts the area behind my ears and I can't wait to take them off, but this one was pretty comfortable - I could hardly feel it there. After wearing this one, I'm definitely going to wear a fascinator again.

Next is the shoes. I brought these shoes quite a while ago from New Look. Overall I do rate New Look's shoes, especially their heels. They're very comfy and come in all colours and heel heights with a good range of sizes. These heels are a nude/pink colour to go with the fascinator and are a patent material. They also have a peep-toe. I struggle to find shoes that are the perfect fit for me - I range from a size 3 - 5 - but what I love about these heels is that they have an adjustable strap at the back so you can tighten them to fit your foot exactly. I've worn these shoes quite a few times along with a lot of other New Look shoes and would definitely recommend them.
I'm awful at painting my nails. At the start of the day, I was motivated enough to paint my nails with the gorgeous polish from Rimmel called Lose Your Lingerie from their 60 Second Super Shine range. Rimmel polishes are some of my favourite because they have a wide brush so it covers your nail quickly whilst adding the right amount of colour. My grandma had brought a polish from the same range called Let's Get Nude, and after ruining mine with a shaky left hand, I decided to completely remove it and use hers. I'm glad I did too because its a lovely colour. It is very subtle but adds a pearly, nude sheen to your nails. It was great because even when I went over the edges it wasn't obvious at all!![]() |

Yesterday was a wonderful day. We live quite far away from my mum's side of the family and we don't see each other often enough. To celebrate such a special occasion with all of them was amazing. The venue was also incredible - it was a country house in Kent called The Knowle. The wedding ceremony took place outside under a little hut decorated with stunning flowers. The food was also delicious and the inside was done beautifully. I wish the happy couple every happiness and hope all the guests had as much fun as I did.
