My Current Skincare Routine

Image
Exciting news, everyone: I have a new thing. Skincare! As someone who is in love with makeup, you'd probably think skincare is another obsession of mine - but no. This is mostly down to the fact I spend all my money on products that make my skin grotty, instead of what clears it up. But as we hurtle into the summer months, my skin has been crying out for some attention. I have normal to dry skin, but more the latter when it comes into contact with the sun, and especially in the summertime I'm always after a little bit more of a glow. So I decided it was high time to kick-start my skincare routine again and show my squishy freckled face some lurveee. At the moment, I'm using my Garnier Micellar Water to remove makeup. I've been loyal to this product for absolutely ages, but I'm fancying a change since it doesn't remove my Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara all that well, and I have been thinking about the Simple Moisturising Facial Wash ever ...

Summer Lookbook | 2019

Image
Friday, 10th May 2019: from precisely 12pm, 'What Time Is It?' from High School Musical 2 began looping in my head, as I packed my uni bits and bobs away ready for summer time. Bon voyage, second year. Two days later and I'm bored out of my mind. There's three things I do when I'm bored - 1.) scroll through YouTube endlessly, 2.) make 1000 cups of tea, and 3.) spend money. It didn't take much to persuade me to put the cup of tea down, stop watching Avengers: Endgame theory videos, and take a stroll into town to treat myself. I had already picked up a few gorgeous bits and pieces over Easter, and rounded off my summer spending (for now) after a splurge in the shops on Monday. Together with some beloved summer staples that have hung around in my wardrobe for years, I've collated my perfect summer lookbook in prep for more glorious weather.    My summer wardrobe wouldn't be complete without a cutesy summer dress. And is it really the perfect...

Second Year? Completed It Mate.

The fact that it was a whole year ago I was sat in my teeny little dorm room writing a post about my experience as a first-year uni student is baffling. I don't even want to think about how soon I will be writing a post about waving goodbye to uni for good and setting sail for the big wide world. I'm not ready for that yet - I only learned how to iron things properly yesterday.  And yet, here we are. It's a gorgeously sunny day here in Southampton, but in traditional Ellie fashion, I'm locked up in my room with some Disney tunes to keep me company, tapping away at my keyboard. But what else is there to do? I always find it so strange finishing an academic year and having nothing to do. I can lounge around drinking copious amounts of tea and watching copious amounts of YouTube without the lingering feeling I should probably be doing work. And with nothing else to do, what better time to reminisce about my time as a Level 5 Multimedia Journalism student, and close ...

My Most Anticipated 2019 Albums: All They Cracked Up to Be?

Image
Back in January, I wrote a post called 'Albums I'm Really Really Looking Forward To in 2019' (linked here if you're out of the loop). We now find ourselves in May - some of the albums have already dropped, transforming my bedroom into Oceana and making me cry fat, splodgy tears in equal measure. Some, however, have merely trickled onto the scene and left little impact on me. Some haven't come out yet and are turning me crazy with anticipation (yes, I'm talking to you Lana del Rey. Drop the damn album). But today, we're gonna have a chit chat about the albums I mentioned at the start of the year and see how they fared in my rankings, starting from my least favourite to one that is now one of my favourite albums of all time.  vampire weekend - father of the bride  Coming in at last place is Vampire Weekend's fourth album Father of the Bride. Released only 10 days ago, the album is the most recent on this list. I've listened to it a few ti...
