Big Birthday Haul!
I've had birthday money burning a hole in my back pocket for quite a while now, so I caved in and brought a fair few things yesterday. If I ramble on any more, this will be a very long post, so lets get started!

Ted Baker Elly purse - £48
Before going high street shopping, I spent my Ted Baker voucher I got from my brother online. I knew they had a sale on and I had seen this purse that I liked had been reduced. I didn't want to risk it being gone by the time I went shopping, so I brought it from the website. This is the appropriately named Elly purse. It came in many different colours, but I brought it in black leather. It has pink leather on the inside as well as a monochrome floral lining. It has lots of space inside, with six card slots and a space to put notes and/or receipts. It also has a separate compartment for coins. I know this sounds weird, but it makes me so happy when someone asks me for change, because opening the clasp to get to my coins is so satisfying! This is a really good quality purse. It came in two different sizes but I brought the smaller size because I find them more practical. This was £48 in the sale, reduced from £79, which I think is pretty good.

MAC Face and Body Foundation - £22
The first place I went to on the high street was MAC. MAC has fantastic quality makeup and with the money to spend, I couldn't help treating myself. I had my eye on a couple of things; the Face and Body foundation and the Select Moisturecover concealer. I was colour-matched for both products by a helpful makeup artist. I wore them for the rest of the day. The foundation is has a very light coverage but can be built up. You can barely feel it on your face but it has a noticeable effect. It has a dewy and healthy looking finish, so if you have oily skin it may not be the best foundation for you. It gives a lovely airbrushed look. I got the 50ml bottle, which was £22. I doesn't look very big but the foundation has a watery consistency so you still get a good amount of product. I use the shade C1.

MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer - £15.50
The concealer is amazing! I use it under my eyes and around my nose where I get red and dry. It gives a decent amount of coverage but is so moisturising which is great if you have dry skin like I do sometimes. It has a doe foot applicator which makes it easy to apply. The concealer was £15.50 and for that you get 5ml. I use the shade NW15.

Bourjois La Laque in Lycheers - £6.49
Also on the beauty front, I brought a new nail polish from Boots. After watching Fleur de Force's New in Beauty: July 2015, I liked the look of the Nailberry nail polish in the shade Fashionista. I checked how much it was, and I think it was around £14. Knowing that I'd inevitably mess it up and not wear it often enough, I wasn't prepared to pay that much. When in Boots, I spotted nail polish from Bourjois that was a similar colour. This nail polish is from their La Laque range and is the shade Lycheers. It's like a dusty raspberry colour. I wouldn't say its a summery colour, but would be perfect for autumn. I painted my nails with this polish last night and I was surprised and impressed that you literally needed one coat and it was completely opaque. However, having one layer of colour does mean that it chips quite easily; I've learned the hard way. This polish was £6.49. The range seemed to have some nice colours, so if this one isn't for you, its worth checking out the rest.
Clothes wise, I brought two things in Topshop. Topshop is probably my favourite clothes shop because, even though it can be quite expensive, the quality of the products is great and will last such a long time. Their jeans are brilliant - they're the comfiest type of jeans I've ever owned. I brought an azure blue pair of their Leigh jeans. I haven't had a pair of Leigh jeans before, but they are described as skinny ankle grazers and aren't high-waisted. It might be the length of the jeans that I brought, but mine aren't ankle grazers. I really like them though. They're a lovely, classic colour with muted gold stitching. They were £38, so a bit pricey for high street jeans, but definitely worth it for the time they last. I also brought a top in Topshop. It is a grey space-dye tank top with a round neck, which I think will look so nice with your hair up. Because it's fairly basic, it can be worn with anything. This was £12.

I also picked up a pair of heels in the New Look sale. If you've read my OOTD: My Uncle and Auntie's Wedding post (if not, you can read it here), you will know how much I recommend New Look's heels. They're so comfortable at incredible prices and in a range of sizes, including wide fit. I brought a pair of black heels, since mine were too small and I bent the heel because of too much dancing at prom. I think black heels are a staple item to have in every girl's wardrobe. This pair have the most adorable bow on the front and an adjustable strap at the back. I find the adjustable straps so useful because I have an awkward foot size so they make the shoe fit perfectly. These were £11 in the sale, which is amazing!

Lastly, I brought two DVDs from HMV that were 2 for £10. These were Love, Rosie and Now You See Me. I've never seen either of these films before but have wanted to for a long time. Both of them are rated five stars and have some great actors in them. I look forward to watching them both.
I'd just like to thank everyone who donated to my birthday fund. I had a lovely time shopping yesterday.
Have a great week.
From,
Eleanor
