Chocolate and Cranberry Flapjacks

In my free time, one of my favourite things to do is bake. I've recently finished Tanya Burr's book, Love, Tanya, and really liked the look of the recipes she included. I've never made flapjacks before and I enjoy adapting recipes to put my own stamp on them, so I decided to modify Tanya's recipe of Smarties Flapjacks and turn them into Chocolate and Cranberry ones. They were very tasty, so here's how to make them:

You will need:
The ingredients you need
125g of butter
125g of sugar
6 tablespoons of golden syrup
250g of porridge oats
50g of milk chocolate chunks
25g of dried cranberries

Method:
1. Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
2. Add the butter to the a saucepan and melt for a little bit before adding the sugar and golden syrup.
3. After the sugar has dissolved and the butter has melted, add in the porridge oats, chocolate chunks and cranberries. If you don't want to add these, you can choose different things to use like Tanya's idea of Smarties or even just leave them plain.
4. Put the mixture into a baking tin and flatten it out so that it touches the edges.
5. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes before leaving it to cool completely on a wire rack.
6. Cut the flapjacks into whatever size you want - I cut them into 9. Enjoy!

I hope you find these flapjacks as yummy as I did!

From, Eleanor
Also very nice with a cup of tea!

*I am in no way trying to take credit for Tanya's recipe. This is my personal adaptation of the recipe that I thought to share.*
