Birthday Trip to London
This week has probably been the most hectic of my life, but it has been so much fun. Tuesday was graduation from Year 11, Wednesday was my school prom and Friday was my very first job interview. However, probably the most chaotic (and boiling hot) day was yesterday, my sixteenth birthday. I really wanted to go into London for the day - partly because it was somewhere my family could get to easily, partly because of the new Oxford Street Lush shop! So the trip was organised and it was a lovely day:

First off, after a night of little sleep due to a huge thunder storm, it was present opening time. I'm so lucky with the presents I got, which included the beautiful star stacking Pandora ring from my parents, a Ted Baker gift card from my little brother and money from my grandparents and uncles and auntie.
We then got a train to Kings Cross, followed by a tube to Oxford Circus. It would've been rude not to pop into the giant Topshop down Oxford Street. Although I didn't buy anything, I made up for it in the new Lush shop, buying 5 of the their bath products; the Intergalatic bath bomb, Frozen bath bomb, Yuzu and Cocoa bubble bar, Flowering Tea bubble bar and the Yoga Bomb bath bomb. I'm really excited to try these products - I've been using Lush products constantly for about two and half years and loved almost everything I've used, but never had the ones I picked up at Oxford Street. I'll do individual reviews of the products after I've tried them, which I'm sure will be soon!

After shopping, we went on a boat tour down the River Thames. It was a gorgeous day in London so the water sparkled and all the iconic sights looked even more amazing. We went with City Cruises, who had a funny crew member talking us through the sights.
We stopped off at Greenwich, one of my favourite places. We first had afternoon tea at The Pavilion Cafe on Greenwich Hill. It was delicious! We then went to the viewing point that has stunning panoramic views over the Thames. It is the sole reason why I love Greenwich so much. The famous places of the London skyline, like Canary Wharf, the Shard, and my personal favourite, the O2 Arena, all visible just sitting in a sea of green grass. We were all pretty tired after a restless night, so I dozed off in the grass.

When we had finished on the hill, we took the DLR train to Canary Wharf because my brother wanted to have a look. Although there wasn't too much to see, it was extremely busy. Next, we took a DLR train to Bank, the tube to Holborn and walked to Jamie's Italian in Covent Garden, where we met up with my Nanny, Grandad, Uncle, Auntie and second cousins for a meal. I had the tagliatelle bolognese, which was scrummy! Whilst there, I was given a pair of really pretty heart-shaped earrings from Pandora by my second cousins and some more money from my grandparents and Uncle and Auntie. I'm so looking forward to a huge shopping spree!
After lots of laughing, it was time to head back to Kings Cross and catch the train home. It was quite late and I was very tired, but this birthday was possibly the best ever. Spending quality time with my great family in one of my favourite places was just incredible and I just feel so lucky.
I hope you've all had a fab week too!
From,
Eleanor
