August Favourites
Happy September! I can't believe August is over already - it feels like I blinked and I missed it. Being the end of another month, I have the opportunity to discuss my favourite things from August with you. As I've said on my 'About' page, I don't have a forte, so there are going to be a range of products mentioned. I've never done one of these before, but I hope you enjoy it. Let's get cracking!

Chloe Body Lotion
My first favourite is something I've mentioned briefly before in my Lanzarote Part I post, and that is my Chloe body lotion. I love this stuff. Yes, it is fairly pricey, and yes, it goes quicker than you would like it to, but honestly it smells incredible and does great things to your skin. I use this every time I come out of the shower and smother it over my arms and legs. After doing so, my skin feels so soft. It has also helped to maintain the little tan I got from my holiday while moisturising what has been dried out by the sun. The scent is that of the signature Chloe fragrance. It smells like a lovely bouquet of flowers, with notes of peony, cedar, rose, amber and fresia. It's fair to say if you don't like floral scents, this lotion probably isn't for you. The smell lingers on your skin for quite a while. Saying that, it is quite a light fragrance, so perfect for summer and/or you wanted something fresh and feminine. I love this body lotion and if it was a bit cheaper then I probably would repurchase it multiple times - it was just a bit of a holiday treat I decided to splash out on - but I definitely will be looking at the perfume. It is my Lanzarote scent. I brought this lotion in duty free so it was a bit cheaper, but it is £26 in Boots.

Lush Lip Service Lip Balm
Another favourite of mine is also a moisturising product, but this time its for your lips. I suffer with extremely dry lips all year round and my lip balms weren't helping at all. Whilst looking at my bath bomb fix on the Lush website, I noticed that they do lip balms too, so when visiting the store I picked one up. I bought the Lip Service one. On the little pot, it claims that it 'keeps lips supple and crack free', which is exactly what I needed. I put it on as soon as I got it. Firstly, I was very happy it tasted of oranges, and secondly, my lips instantly felt better. It was like they were having a drink! My lips have never been in a better condition thanks to this product, I love love love it. It was a bit more expensive than your average lip balm from Boots - it was £5.75 - but I am completely past caring about that, because it is amazing. If you're having horrible dry lips at the moment, I recommend trying out some Lush lip balms.

Tanya Burr Nail Polish - Fairy Godmother
For someone who is completely useless at painting nails, I seem to talk about nail polish a lot on this blog. Surprise surprise, my next favourite is a new nail polish from the Tanya Burr Cosmetics re-launch. When I heard Tanya was re-releasing her product line with some new additions, I was very excited. I've previously had two of her nail polishes - Midnight Sparkles and Penguin Chick - and they are two of my favourites. I ordered one of the new polishes, called Fairy Godmother, from Feel Unique. Before it even arrived, I was in love with the packaging. For such an affordable brand, it looks so professional and glamorous, with a rectangular bottle and gold cap. When it actually arrived, I painted my nails with it straight away. It did take three coats to get it fully opaque but the end result being a beautiful, pale lilac colour made it all worth it. This is now one of my favourite nail polishes and I will get a lot of wear out of it, even if that is more around my nails than actually on them.
I have two music favourites of the month. The first is a singer/songwriter called The Beach. I first heard of them after Tanya Burr (sorry for the excessive mentioning of Tanya Burr in this post) spoke about them in a favourites video, explaining that his music was like a cross between Ben Howard and James Bay, aka two of my favourite singers of all time. I listened to his two singles, From Above and Thieves, on YouTube before downloading them. Tanya was right in saying his music was a mix of Ben Howard and James Bay. The songs themselves are more like Ben's whereas his voice is similar to the passionate individuality of James. Both of the singles are amazing but my favourite is Thieves. On the 29th August, he released an EP called Maybe? which is also really good. If you like soulful guitar music, I would sincerely recommend checking The Beach out. On the other end of the spectrum, I have become obsessed with a song from a band I thought I'd never like, 5 Seconds of Summer. My 'song of the summer' is without a doubt She's Kinda Hot. I had nothing against 5 Seconds of Summer, it's just their music isn't something I'd usually listen to, but this song reminds me of old school McFly, one of my favourite bands ever. She's Kinda Hot is just such a fun, summmery song that I can't help but just sing along to. If you liked McFly back in the day or are just in the mood for a summer tune, listen to this song. I should probably check out some more 5SOS songs.

Of course, some more favourites of mine have been experiences. During August I have visited the stunning island of Lanzarote and spent a royal afternoon in London, both of which I have blogged about and will leave a link to here (Lanzarote Part I), here (Lanzarote Part II), and here (Afternoon in London).
They are all of my favourites from August! I feel like now summer is almost over, which is a shame because I have such a great one. I'm now ready to face my first year of Sixth Form. Wish me luck! All the best to everyone going back to school.
Have a great September and see you soon!
From,
Eleanor
