On Friday, my Mum, Brother and I took the train down to London as we had booked a tour around the state rooms at Buckingham Palace. This is something I've always wanted to do and it was well worth it. Everything was so ornate and beautiful. There was an audio guide explaining different parts of each of the 15 rooms you were able to explore, plus it was interesting and slightly surreal to think that so many influential people had been in the same room you were standing in. I also recommend the profiteroles in the Garden Cafe. Before the tour, we spent some time in St James' Park. It was nice just to chill and watch the squirrels scamper about as well as taking in the pretty scenery. I love London's diversity - you have such a mix of modern and historic places and peaceful areas like St James' Park then the hustle of the streets. After the tour, we met my Dad, who occasionally works in London, for dinner. We went to Bella Italia. I had the Sausage Ragu al Forno and it was delish, as were the little Chocolate and Ameretto, Mini Pannacotta and Banoffee Pie shot desserts.
A lot of the memories I'll take from this day will come from the pictures I took. I love photography and its become a bit of a joke in my family that everywhere we stop, someone will ask if I want to take a picture. Below are the pictures I took. Obviously you weren't allowed to take photos inside the palace. I don't have a professional camera and use my phone, which is a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Enjoy the photos!
Hope you're well!
From,
Eleanor
