My Favourite Bits and Pieces from Lush
Every shopping trip I go on, there's no escaping Lush. I just love that shop so so much. From their amazing products, to their even more amazing ethics and morals as a company, there's no place I'd rather go to for a little something something to treat myself with. I bang on about self love and self care a lot on here, and one of my favourite ways to make myself feel well and truly cared for is to smother on a load of Lush products - not only do I always feel super relaxed, but I know I'm using excellent cruelty-free goodies and supporting a fab company too. So, after all that waffle, here are some of my top picks from Lush.
FOR THE BATH
One of the best ways to wind down after a long day in my opinion is a bath, and it usually helps to add a boost of loveliness to it in the form of a Lush bath bomb. The one that I pick up every time without fail is Intergalactic. It's just the perfect indulgence; a beautiful mix of colours and bubbles melts away to leave a deep blue bath with gold glitter, like the shimmering night sky. I usually have my baths at night, but the peppermint smell of this one make it an ideal morning bath option too - its very rejuvenating, and plus the glitter does sometimes stay on your skin, which I really like if I'm going out during the day, as it really catches the light. Although The Comforter bubble bar comes in as a close second, I can see Intergalactic being my fave bath treat for a very long time.
FOR THE SHOWER
Back in the day when I watched Zoella religiously, I remember her talking about The Olive Branch shower gel and I thought it sounded right up my street. And ever since, I've absolutely adored it. It's not one I pick up too often because Lush shower gels are quite expensive, so when I do have it, it feels extra luxurious (thanks again Emma for picking me up a bottle for ma bday). I absolutely love the scent of this one; it's quite subtle, but has citrus-y notes that makes it a really lovely sunny fragrance, so fabulous for this time of year. It also has olive oil in it, which makes it nice and moisturising, and vine leaf infusion to make your skin deliciously smooth. What's not to love?
SKIN CARE
These three products have come into my life quite recently, but now I have them, I don't want to live without them again. I made it a bit of a mission this year to look after my skin a lot more - I invest so much in makeup, but I don't take care of my skin properly at all - and, of course, Lush was my first port of call. So let's start with cleanser. This first little beauty is called Let the Good Times Roll, and is one of their fresh cleansers...it also happens to be the yummiest smelling thing I've ever had the pleasure of slapping all over my face. Popcorn, ladies and gents, it smells like popcorn. I've wanted to taste it a shameful amount of times. Other than the scent, I love this cleanser because it's also softly exfoliating thanks to the maize flour in it - so works as a bit of a two-in-one - and includes lots of vitamin goodness to leave your skin feeling really bloomin good.
Next we have the Eau Roma Water, which is a bit of a god-send for dry and dehydrated skin like mine. After taking off the cleanser with some warm water, I spritz this good stuff all over my face, and it helps balance out the tones of my skin (so reduces the redness I often get around my nose) while getting rid of that extra bit of grub the cleanser hasn't managed to find. Keeping the bottle in the fridge makes it lovely and cooling, and is a gorgeous addition to my skin care routine.
Lastly we come to moisturiser, and I'm now obsessed with Lush's Celestial. Once again, my skin is somewhere between normal and dry (so keep that in mind - some of these products might not suit your skin as much), and with ingredients like almond oil, vanilla water and orchid extract, Celestial does it's job at restoring some moisture pretty darn well. My skin is always visibly smoother after using this, and the almond oil in it fights against skin damage - brilliant if your the sun's enemy like me. After using these three gems, my skin has never felt or looked better - a highly recommended investment.
BODY CARE
I don't really know what this would count as, but we're gonna go with body care. I mean, would you really wanna read this bit if I labelled it "foot care?" I wouldn't. But hold your horses and stick around, because this is a dream of a product. I spoke about the Softy foot lotion in this post and how much I loved it for a bit of a pamper, but its really come into it's own in the heat. I don't like my feet - or anyone's feet, really - but Softy makes me feel a bit more ready to wack out the sandals. It's a rich, conditioning lotion that leaves my feet feeling so much more loved. The lavender fragrance also makes it a brilliant before-bed product, since it's known for it's sleep-helping qualities.
And finally we come to hand care. Helping Hands is probably the best hand cream I've ever tried, and that's coming from someone who's tried a helluva lot because I have gross, dry hands all year round. The almond oil, shea butter and cocoa butter makes this pot of gloriousness a real genius product for moisturising your hands, while the lavender scent, again, means its a very relaxing product I love to spend time working in properly. It also has some incredible long term benefits, with linseed mucilage helping to reduce cracks. Such an awesome hand cream that does what so many others fail to do!
Lush has been a favourite store of mine for such a long time, and I'm sure it will be for ages. I can't wait to keep discovering more faves around and take up even more room on the bathroom shelf (sorry house mates).
From,
Eleanor
