Outfits for Freshers Week

It's official: I'm a uni student. Time to roll on the extra long days of essay writing, crippling debt and 9 am lectures following a night on the town. But before all that, of course, is Freshers Week. I actually have two Freshers Weeks - the week just gone and this week - although my biggest party is tomorrow night, and I'm super excited. Before I got here I was a bit worried about outfits and things; sure, I had been clubbing before, but different clubs expect different dress codes, plus I always try to find an excuse to buy more new clothes. So if you're looking for some last-minute Freshers Week outfit inspo, or just like all-things clothes related like me, look no further.

I've found a lot of places and a lot of people tend to keep things fairly simple when it comes to their outfits round here. I wore this first outfit - which keeps things casual with an injection of dressy metallic - out to a club on Friday, but I think it would also work really nicely if you're just popping down to the pub with some new friends too. The star of the show for me is the top. I had worn this so many times before I got to uni; I knew I couldn't leave home without it. It's from ASOS, though it looks like it was in the sale and probably isn't returning to stock anytime soon, so here's something *similar*. I think it's a really interesting style, with it's cropped fit and high neck, and looks great dressed up or down. Here I've decided to keep it casual, by pairing it with these New Look black skinnys which I wear all the time, my fave white Converse low-tops  and this oversized denim jacket from Topshop that I absolutely adore and take around everywhere.

Next up we have another pretty relaxed look, but one that I still really really like. The jeans are probably my favourite part of this ensemble, no matter how tatty they're starting look - I love them so much I just forked out £30 to buy another pair in a different colour on a student budget. That's commitment right there. Anyway, they are the ASOS Farleigh Jeans. Super duper comfy, a gorgeous fit, and to be honest they don't cost the earth. I like rolling these up (mostly because they're too long for my teeny legs) and pairing them, once again, with my white Converse low-tops. This Boohoo top is also one of my faves for going out. It's simple but also a bit different with it's cut out details. It's not the finest quality top in the world - I've had this since July and after a few wears I have a hole in the seam and quite a lot of loose stitching - but it's the ideal style for a chilled night out look.

As you can probably tell by the previous outfits, I'm not really one for dressy looks, although this last one is probably my favourite of the lot. This black Boohoo crop top and skirt co-ord is the perfect outfit for a little more something-something during Freshers Week. Co-ords are such a lifesaver when it comes to seriously inexpensive outfit ideas, as together they look stunning but also can be paired with so many other bits too. I really like this one - it feels like a better quality than the top in the previous look, and I know it's a bit of a weird thing to comment on, but I dig the length of these spaghetti straps. I don't know why. I wouldn't recommend wearing heels to a club unless they require it, as you can easily do some damage to your ankles - I speak from experience. These New Look strappy heels (which I can't find for the life of me on the New Look website even though I only bought them last month, so here are some similar ones) have been thought of as the devil since I fell down the stairs in them at a club, but I think they are actually really pretty shoes. Definitely not the comfiest, but I've been complimented on them by strangers before which literally never happens to me, so wearing them must be worth the pain.

The last outfit is the only one I am yet to road test, and I think that'll be tomorrow night's look (minus the heels haha). All in all these outfits are genuinely some of my favourites in my wardrobe, particularly for a good ol' party :)

See you again next week my loves - I think imma be hitting you with an old fashioned concert review, so stay tuned.

From,
Eleanor
