Autumn Makeup
It's that time of year again to start pulling on the knitwear and fluffy socks, but most importantly, rocking a bold berry lip. I love the colours of Autumn, and having the opportunity to wack out my fave Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in Berry Much makes me a very happy girl indeed. I had always struggled with finding the right eye shades to go with it, however, but now I've got my hands on the NYX Warm Neutrals palette (yes, another blog post about that) I'm all set with my perfect bold Autumnal Makeup look. Hope you enjoy...
Starting with base, I tend to use the same kind of products all year round. I've always liked a light, dewy finish come rain or shine. I seem to switch between MAC Face and Body foundation and the Urban Decay Naked One and Done Tinted Moisturiser, which is what I went for today. The best part about this product is its long term effects; I definitely feel like after using it for a while my skin is generally better and has more of an even tone. One of my new favourite products though is the NYX 3C Palette, full of brilliant colour correctors. For this look, I just took the peach-toned shade under my eyes to waken myself up a bit.
Moving on to brows, it will come as no surprise to anyone that I took the shade Bark from the Sleek I-Divine Au Naturel palette on an angled brush to add some shape and definition. I like to square my brows off at the front, and then manically sweep the powder through the rest. I also used the Benefit Gimme Brow brow gel to set them in place and beef them up a bit (not that they need that). For eyes, I used the gorgeous NYX Warm Neutrals palette, starting with the shimmery purple-toned shade on the second row all over the lids. In the crease, I took the brownish purple (the one next to the gold, I can't describe colours for the life of me) on the third row to add some definition and tie all the purpley tones together. To brighten up the inner corners, I took the shimmery gold along the top row on my pinky finger. In terms of lashes, something I've recently got into is eyelash curlers. I have a pair from No 7, and usually go in twice on each eye, holding and pulsing for ten seconds each time. I find the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara works best with pre-curled lashes since the brush is so tapered to a curl - it's great at lengthening and separating lashes.
Time for cheeks, the bronzer I can't live without is the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I adore the stuff. It's gorgeous and warm, and the fact it's matte makes it beautifully subtle too. I think it's a shade that could work for so many skin tones. I take it on a big powder brush and sweep it over the cheeks, temples and down my neck. I didn't bother with blush - I rarely do - so I took my Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette and dusted the shade Antiqued Bronze over the tops of my cheek bones and down my nose. I've also loved drawing freckles on recently; although I have some subtle ones that sometimes like to pop out to say hello, I think adding a couple more makes any makeup look all the more cute and all the more natural. I use a very skinny pencil brush and dip it into the the furthest greyish brown shade on the second row of the NYX palette and dot the randomly on my nose and cheeks.
Lastly, for lips, as you know my favourite Autumnal shade is the Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in Berry Much. I live for the formula of these creamy matte pencils, and they are super easy to apply - it makes wearing bold lips a load more hassle-free. I draw over the outline of my lips first, before filling them in.
And there you have it, my Autumn Makeup look! I absolutely love this makeup and I think it would work perfectly for any Autumn night out.
In other news, I moved into my uni halls yesterday. More on that later.
From,
Eleanor
