Post-Christmas Clothing Haul
After the massive build up to Christmas and New Year, it all seems to be over the blink of an eye. Now it's time to get back in the swing of things and do the uni work I've been putting off for ages, and waking up before 10 o'clock. There's nothing like a good spend up to kick those January blues, and together with some vouchers I was very lucky to receive for Christmas, and the money my overdraft is kindly supplying me, I did just that.
the jumper dress & star tights.
Let's start with what is probably my favourite outfit of the lot. I was perusing the ASOS sale as soon as Boxing Day rolled around, and in typical Ellie fashion, I found this full-price jumper dress that I am now fully in love with. It's super, super cosy, and is the perfect little piece to dress up or down - I love pairing it with a denim jacket, silver hoop earrings and black ankle boots. But I think the tights really make the outfit. I don't think I've ever obsessed over a pair of tights before, but these ones from New Look are wholly worth it. I love a good star print - especially at this time of year - and I think these tights are such a fun way to add them into your look, and they add a lil something-something extra to this plain black dress.
the bright red jumper & striped trousers.
I'm having a real moment for Pull and Bear right now. I've loved that shop ever since I discovered it, but I think their current bits are the nicest I've seen there in a long time. These paper bag striped trousers (similar) were the first things on my Christmas list. I love wearing them around the house with a comfy jumper tucked into them, but I've also worn them on a night out with a black cami top and adored them just as much. My favourite way to wear them, though, is with this incredibly soft red jumper, also from Pull and Bear. Cheap and cheerful, but also amazing quality; I only got it a couple of days ago, but I've hardly taken it off. I love this outfit with the khaki Puma Suedes I got for Christmas (which, side note, are the cutest trainers to exist ever).
the beanie hat, striped top & suede skirt.
Obviously I'm having a bit of a moment for stripes too (but, let's be real, when will stripes ever not be awesome?). I picked up this top agesssss ago from H&M but it's still going strong; I wear it all the time. I received some H&M vouchers for Christmas, and found this lovely little faux suede skirt - aka the ideal winter skirt. I've never found a skirt that fits as well as this one does, and it just goes with so much! I love casualising this combo with this navy beanie hat from Accessorize (I got it years and years ago, so here's a similar one). Round it off with some black ankle boots, and you have yourself a gorgeous wintery ensemble, my friend.
There you go, a fairly moderate haul compared to what we're used to here, but I am actually trying to be a bit more sensible with my money as I head into my second semester at uni (*laughs*). I'll let you know how that goes.
From,
Eleanor
