Summer in Photos: Remaining Days in Florida
*If you haven't had a gander over the photos snapped during my first three days in Florida, you can find them here*
I find myself here again, looking over the sunny photos taken in Florida while tucked up in bed looking over gloomy grey skies with a throbbing foot after falling down the stairs in a club (top tip - don't wear really high heels at clubs, nice one Ellie). It's safe to say that it's times like these I really wish I was back in Mickeyland. So, let us reminisce over those remaining days spent there, shall we?
DAY FOUR: ANIMAL KINGDOM
I love Animal Kingdom, and how different it is from the rest of the very in-your-face-Disney parks. My favourite rides there is definitely Expedition Everest and the Avatar Flight of Passage (you'll see that in a bit), but the Kilimanjaro Safari is pretty amazing too. We also stayed that evening for the Rivers of Light show - it was nice, but didn't compare to the Happily Ever After fireworks we'd seen the night before.
DAY FIVE: EPCOT
In three words, Epcot was: hot, rainy and tasty. Let's be real, the best part of Epcot's World Showcase is all the food, like lunch's French pastries and dinner's yummy Italian. I do love Soarin' though - I think it will always be one of my favourite rides. Test Track, as always, was brilliant, as was the Illuminations fireworks display in the evening.
DAY SIX: MAGIC KINGDOM (AGAIN)
Day Six was a mum and daughter day back at Magic Kingdom whilst my dad and brother went to the Kennedy Space Centre. Other than seeing the fireworks again, a sure top moment of both the day and the whole holiday was meeting Gaston from Beauty and the Beast (ya'll know that BATB is my fave fave fave film in the world).
DAY SEVEN: THE POOL & HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
By Monday, the famalam and I were exhausted. We decided to chill by the resort pool for most of the day before going to Hollywood Studios for dinner and to watch Fantasmic. Dinner was fab; it was a 50s themed restaurant called 50s Prime Time, with black and white TV shows playing on old screens, and delicious homely meals. Fantasmic was a little disappointing - I'd seen a video on YouTube for the show, which must've been in a different park, because I was super looking forward to a Pirates of the Caribbean section which never came. It was worth it for the shot of Belle and Beast on their float, however ;)
DAY EIGHT: UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE
From a ride perspective, I rate Universal above a lot of the Disney parks. Before heading over to Islands of Adventure, I had to go on Escape from Gringotts again, but this ride was perhaps topped by the other Harry Potter ride over in Hogsmeade, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. If you go on any rides on either side, the Harry Potter ones are both i.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e. I also loved the Jurassic Park ride and the Popeye water rapids.
DAY NINE & TEN: ANIMAL KINGDOM & DISNEY SPRINGS
Our last full day was spent at Animal Kingdom. We had been told to visit their new Avatar themed land, Pandora, which we hadn't done on our first trip. Despite the 3 and 3/4 wait for Flight of Passage, the ride was totally worth it and absolutely breathtaking. We couldn't leave without a second trip on Everest and another Safari. That evening, we saw La Nouba by Cirque de Soleil at Disney Springs, which was so much fun. We spent our last day in Disney Springs (mostly in Sephora) too before heading to Orlando airport and back home to Blighty.
So that was the whole holiday. I had such an amazing time, and I can't wait for the next time I visit.
From,
Eleanor
