Belle of the Ball

Image
Ever since watching Beauty and the Beast - which I have now seen twice, and loved it just as much the second time - I've been watching endless hours of features and interviews with the cast, finding out as much as I can. Seriously, the amount of times I've heard how Dan Stevens transformed into the Beast is a very high amount. And the more I stare at the gorgeous, gorgeous makeup Emma Watson dons for Belle, the more I absolutely love it. It's lovely and fresh-faced, with a dewy finish to the skin and beautifully natural eyes and lips. This is the perfect 'no makeup' makeup look, which I've tried to recreate for you today - also, I definitely didn't wear my yellow jumper today because it's the closest thing I have to Belle's dress...pfft. The most noticeable part of Emma's gosh-darn flawless skin is her lovely freckles. I do have natural freckles but I added a few more under my eyes and on the bridge of my nose with the  Rimmel Soft Khol ...

A Study In Pink

When it comes to makeup and clothes, for me, neutral tones are where its at. I would say probably a good 75% of my wardrobe is black, grey or white - and I am totally okay with that. For eye shadow, a go-to natural shade of mine has to be Silk Teddy from the  Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette : a gorgeous champagne-pink shimmer that adds the right amount of something-something for an everyday face. In a similar vein, the  Sleek MakeUp Precious Metals Highlighting Palette  has been one of my favourite discoveries of the year so far, the shades Renaissance Gold giving a r...

Beauty and The Beast [Review]

I think when I saw the very first trailer for the new live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast I cried a bit. Anyone who knows me knows that the original Beauty and the Beast cartoon is my favourite film of all time, so hearing that a new version was coming out was huge news to me. Of course, it had to be arranged that I saw it on opening day, so amongst many other excitable fans, we squeezed into screen 6 of the cinema to watch what promised to be a brilliant, brilliant film.  And of course, there wasn't one bit I didn't love, or at least didn't really really like. Bill Condon kept to the core plot points of the original, only to inject bits and pieces into story that hadn't been addressed before. The additional 45 minutes given to the remake allows for great character development; I particularly enjoyed the deeper exploration of Belle's relationship with her parents, especially her mother, and the more significant role of the enchantress. Alongside this the...
