Spring

When you think of writing an English Lit essay in preparation for your AS Level exams, the word 'fun' doesn't exactly spring to mind. Yet, whilst I was planning said essay, I felt the sun on my neck as it streamed through the window, and I smiled. British weather is very temperamental and I didn't expect to have such blue skies after a week of constant rain and chilliness, so a trip out to walk along the river and enjoy a steaming latte in the local tea rooms wasn't anticipated today. Of course, I can't leave my coat at home just yet, but spring finally feels like it's making a welcome return. Something about the season makes everything seem fresher and generally brighter. I think Autumn is still my favourite season, however the revival of pretty pastels, the rise of the daffodils and the endless reams of Easter choccies will never go unappreciated. There's few things I enjoy more than the occasional visit to the tea rooms because everything in it is so cutesy and vintage, but when you're sat across from a twinkling river and the sun has made you feel that little bit merrier, it's all the more enjoyable.

Welcome back, Spring.

From,
Eleanor
